I look at the world and weep
For what was
And what will not be
For the balance that was lost
Which was rocked
Toppled
Then pushed over
Until the idea of balance
Was a story
A fairytale
A mirage
Fleetingly glimpsed
By those on the edge
Yet those are the connected
The listeners
The bare foot walkers
Who know the necessity
Of living with the earth
Of being part of the world
Not upon
But among
We are not separate
We can not live disconnected
We are embedded
Our lives entwined
Keep that in mind
In every decision
Every visceral reaction
To scarcity
Or longevity
It's real to me
Do you see?
