National Tree Week

During national tree week I celebrated trees by sharing some paintings. I have since created hundreds of tree paintings and written poems inspired by trees, some of which are included below.

Tree of Life

In all weathers

Round the mulberry tree

Guided Guy by the Tree

Nature is really important to me in feeling calm, with trees and the sea being the most calming places for me.

Creativity is also important as part of my mental health and Spirituality and so painting trees and nature, real or imagined, as another way of connecting with God and the world.

Guided Guy and the tree tunnel

Through the valley of trees with Guided Guy

Rooting for the stars

Beating Gravity

Cherry blossom dreams

In shaded woods where whispers softly sway,

I wander far through valleys deep and green,

The sun retreats, its golden light at bay,

While mountains rise like dreams that I have seen.

Each breath of pine recalls the past’s embrace,

As ancient stones stand tall in silent grace;

Their jagged peaks slice clouds that drift away,

Time's canvas painted as geological trace.

With every step upon this sacred ground,

I travel vicariously through dreamlike thought,

Immaculate visions abound all around;

Creativity ignites with beauty caught.

Awake my spirit and ignite my core,

In awe I roam these realms forevermore.

Tree of life from roots to tip

In the heart of green

Vivid branches dance with life

Roots embrace the earth

Vibrant branches sway

Colours dance in sunlit breeze

Life’s pulse ever full

Beneath bright canopies

Roots entwined in vibrant soil

Life bursts forth in hues

Sakura - Cherry Blossom Festival

Colours kiss the sky

Trees dance in gentle whispers

Joy blooms through the earth

In twilight’s glow, the rainbows weave their trails,

Through whispered woods where ancient echoes sing.

With every step over familiar dales,

The earth unfolds its vibrant offering.

Beneath a canopy of patient trees,

Their arms embrace life in an emerald fold;

Leaves murmur secrets carried by the breeze,

A balm for weary hearts, both young and old.

Roots intertwine like stories shared at dusk,

Grounding our souls to nature's tender grace.

Amidst blossoms bright, that banish every husk,

We find a quiet hearth in this safe space.

So let us walk, where peace descends like dew,

On rainbow paths, beneath skies ever true.

In quiet moments where the sea meets sky

Palm trees sway, their dance a whispered prayer

Breathe deeply, feel the salty breeze pass by

Mindfulness wrapped in the sun’s gentle glare

A sandy shore calls forth dreams yet untold

Each wave a reminder to pause and reflect

Colours of rainbows weave tales brave and bold

An invitation to tenderly connect

Holiday hymns echo through tranquil air

The rhythm of nature sings peace to my core

With every tide that washes away despair

I uncover treasures I never knew before

So let me dwell here where heartbeats align

In this sacred space, my spirit can shine

"A Sonnet to the Trees"

The trees taught me to let go, their leaves

Unfurling softly in the crisp embrace,

Autumn's birth, where golden whispers weave,

Through branches bare, revealing nature’s grace.

I stand amidst this change, exquisitely bright,

In second summer's glow I find my place;

Orbit around my heart, a dance of light,

Wishing for different paths in time and space.

Patience has shattered; yet here I remain,

Anchored in autumn’s vivid tapestry.

In dreams I build castles from joy and pain,

Memories upon mountaintops set free.

Harvesting change with each breath that I take,

Sun kisses wounds from the treasures I make.
